The White River Light Station and Museum is a hidden treasure in northern Muskegon County. Climb the spiral staircase to the top of the lighthouse to find a spectacular view that overlooks the White Lake Channel and Lake Michigan. Touring the museum will be sure to take you back into Lake Michigan nautical history. While you are visting, plan to take a stroll down the pier and down the sandy shores of Lake Michigan.
Directions: From US-31 exit White Lake Drive and follow it west 4.4 miles to South Shore Rd. Turn left (south) onto South Shore. At four way stop, turn right to continue on South Shore. Follow South Shore to another four way stop. Look for a lighthouse museum sign straight across from the intersection. Continue straight ahead and follow the road (Murray Rd.) one mile. As you approach the end of the road, look for a driveway, marked by a lighthouse sign, on the left. Follow the narrow entrance to the lighthouse parking area.
